Embedded Firmware Engineer

Your territory
As part of our Firmware team, you will:
- Develop world-class firmware for a global pet tech market leader
- Take end-to-end responsibility for feature development by bringing complex ideas into life and ensuring they work seamlessly in the field
- Analyze code to ensure our products run smoothly by identifying and correcting errors, and improving and optimizing key metrics like power consumption, accuracy, and data volume
- Prepare feature implementations and partner with our in-house Architects
- Collaborate seamlessly with the Backend, Tech Support, and QA teams, while independently driving projects forward
- Delve into GPS, Cellular, BLE, or Zephyr technology, becoming the go-to person in your specific area of expertise
- Participate in retrospectives and introduce your improvement suggestions to enhance our team processes
- Bring in your fresh ideas to make Tractive better - you’ll never hear the phrase “...because that’s how we’ve always done things”
- Continuously grow personally and professionally, take ownership of areas that show your potential, and attend workshops which help you get to the next level
Your profile
Key requirements:
- Hands-on experience in firmware development of minimum 5 years
- Extensive working knowledge of C within an embedded environment
- Proficient user of version control systems and commitment to quality standards like Clean Code and Unit Testing
- Track record of contributing to larger firmware projects (ideally within SCRUM) in a collaborative working environment
- Proficiency in C++ is a significant advantage that sets you apart
- Prior exposure to GPS/Cellular/Wifi or BLE technologies especially in combination with the Nordic platform is a plus
- Very good English skills
- Valid work permit for Austria
